The Fukushima Nuclear Reactor Accident: What Happened and What Does It Mean?

Speaker: Robert Budnitz, LBNL The talk will describe (technically, but in laymens terms) what happened at the Fukushima reactors during and after the disastrous March 11 earthquake and tsunami, what the radioactive releases have been and what they mean, and what the path forward seems to be at the site. The potential implications that these events might have upon the future of nuclear power in general will also be discussed.
